Tulsa Route 66 Main Street is inviting current business owners and all entrepreneurs to apply for a “Food for Thought” Pitch Night event on June 28th that will award 1st Place and 2nd Place (Runner Up) prize packages valued up to $1,500.
Tulsa Route 66 Main Street, SCORE Tulsa, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), SkyNet Solutions, Pachac Peruvian Food, and the City of Tulsa are presenting the “Food for Thought” Pitch Night event, a business pitch competition that will be held live at OSU-CHS (Founder’s Hall) at 1111 W. 17th Street.
The event will highlight all eligible entrepreneurs and current business owners who will pitch their ideas to a panel of experts.
Two 1st Place winners will be selected, one who pitches the best start-up business idea and one who pitches the best growing current business idea. Each 1st Place winner will receive $1,000 in cash AND their choice of one social media marketing campaign OR one month social media management AND one year of free website hosting OR a professionally written article/press release. Each package provided by SkyNet solutions will be valued at $500.
Two 2nd Place winners will be selected, one who pitches the next best start-up business idea and one who pitches the next best growing current business idea. Each 2nd Place Runner Up will receive $250 in cash AND their choice of one social media marketing campaign OR one month social media management AND one year of free website hosting OR a professionally written article/press release. Each package provided by SkyNet solutions is valued at $500.
Individuals and businesses not competing are encouraged to attend this live event. There will be FREE admission, which will include food and one opportunity to vote for the “People’s Choice Award.” However, all guests must have a ticket from Eventbrite in advance as space is limited. The networking kicks off at 6 p.m. on June 28, and spots are now available to attend the live event!
SCORE Tulsa and the SBDC will be available to provide mentorship to awarded participants who are interesting in continuing to pursue their new business plans and/or current business development plans.
The competition is open to anyone who has an idea for a business or already has a current business and is ready to pitch it in front of the panelists.
Applicants have until 11:59 p.m. on June 23rd to submit their entries by providing a 250-words-or-less description of the proposed product or service pitch.
Tulsa Route 66 Main Street will select any eligible finalists who will present their pitches live the evening of June 28th. Entrants will be notified by June 26th if they have been selected for the event.
Tulsa Route 66 Main Street will moderate the event, and Matthew Maennche, Virtual CMO/Virtual CTO, will be the Guest Speaker for the event.
Finalists will have two minutes to pitch their business idea to the panel and will receive immediate feedback. The panelists will select the best pitches and winners based on creativity, ease of implementation, and the well-being the project brings to the local community.
